Lauren turns 12!

My sweet, responsible, joy of a daughter just turned 12!

I don't why but this was so much harder then Dal turning 16!

With turning 12, Lauren is now in the Young Woman's program at our church.

I love how welcoming her new leaders have been.

Her birthday was right before Young Woman's in Excellence.

It was so nice to be able to go with her and see how the girls are working towards 

their YW medallions.  I loved seeing how much they love the Lord and how the leaders and YW

love each other.  Lauren will be in good company.

Lauren is so talented.  She is kind and giving.

She has a way with little children, they all instantly love her!

One day she'll be an amazing mother and wife.

Sometimes I think it her who is raising all of us.

I'm only kinda kidding with that. ;)

Just like her Grandpa Reynolds, Lauren loves the Pepperidge Farm's Coconut Cake!

For dinner she requested Creamy Tortellini Soup!

Evie didn't like the burnt lettuce!.

Lauren asked for a party and I was happy to throw her one!

It was super loud and crazy!

It also was wait for it........A party with BOYS!

Which is one reason it was loud and crazy!

Everyone had so much fun they asked to extended it until 10 pm!

Because it was a Saturday night and we had Church the next day,

we compromised with 9:45 pm but most left around 10 pm anyways.

To keep Milo and Evie upstairs and out of Lauren's hair,

Justin made a bunch of towers with them.

Each one they would name after a Temple and the top cup would be Angle Moroni!

Then they would knock it down, not sure if I should read to much into that?

It's that time again!

I am so excited to share an evening with my girl,

to feel the spirit and to talk about faith!

 These pics are from last March, Lauren's first time going with me to General Woman's Conference.

I love that they have changed the age.

Lauren is about to turn 12 in November and I have been think a lot about my little girl

starting a new chapter in her life and entering into Young Woman's.

I'm still in shock that she's that old. Crazy!

I pray that my girl will be true to her faith, that she'll stand up for what she believes and for those around her.

I hope that she'll always know her Father in Heaven and Savior.

That she'll rely on their love for her when hard times come.

She is golden and I pray she'll stay that way!

How lucky am I to be her mother and how lucky are we that we can go and share a

few hours surrounded by women of faith and to hear council tailored by church leaders for women.

Man the Lord loves us and is mindful of our needs.

As hard as life is with all its trails, what a lucky people we are.

We may have whirlwinds surround us,  hurt and heart ache,  bills may pile up and worry abounds,

but we have the gospel, we have a Prophet, we have the temple, the Holy Ghost is our companion 

and priesthood power.  Most of all we have a Father who love's us and a Savior who's

infinite atonement can save us all.  He has paid the price he has bought and paid for us all,

all we have to do is let him in, to rely on him, to use what he has so dearly given us.

We are a Lucky people!

Lauren is running for student council!

She would be amazing on student council.

It's super competitive in the 6th grade, because most of her grade will run

and only 4 per class will be chosen!

She had to write an essay, make a poster and will be giving a speech later this week.

She's super chill about it all, I'm super not.

Monday my 3 oldest chicklets went back to school.

I already miss Summer.  Call me crazy but I do.

My kids are ready,  so off they go.

Dallin is now in 9th grade.  Holy crap.  

Now everything matters, grades! Holy crap.

It's time to prepare to get into a great college. Holy crap.

Breath!

Back to Dallin.  This kid is awesome.  

He is a tuba playing maniac.

He is one of the few 9th graders playing with the Davis High Marching Band

and is doing their field show.

Davis High is very proud of their Band and Football and being Davis High.

Mike is in 8th grade and is also awesome.

He is playing the baritone which my little ones call the baby tuba.

He loves to skateboard and pester.

He is great at pestering, its a true talent.

Dallin and Mike pose stoically.  Why yes that is doughnut on Mike's mouth.

Lauren is a big 5th grader now.  Crazy.

She also is awesome.

Lauren has the kindest heart.  She is super good.

She has a talent of making everyone around her feel loved, young and old.

She also is a great decorator, she rearranges her room like daily.  No joke.

I got the kids doughnuts for the first day of school breakfast (Mike's mouth is prof), because

I may have slept in and didn't have time to make french toast.

The boys left for KJH.

(I wish it was socially ok for me to walk them the first day, but such things are frowned upon) 

Curled Lauren's hair and luckily 5th graders are fine having their mother walk them to school.

It was a great day and so happy my kids loved it.

Even if someone with doughnut on his mouth said it was okay.

I know he meant amazing.
