A Body

For the 3rd time I had to sit my children down and tell them that we had lost another baby.
I prayed for inspiration and help.
I came across this video on the Mormon Channel.

We watched the video and then talked about how amazing our body's are and how
they are prefect for getting us threw this life, for this mortal period.
Then we talked about how sometimes someone is so pure, they only need a body for a short time.
For the 3rd time we talked about this, for the 3rd time I had to tell them we lost a baby. This is one area that doesn't get easier with practice.  So hard.  I am so grateful to have a knowledge of the gospel, to feel the spirit in my home.  To know that I have a Father in Heaven and that my Savior truly did atone for man kind.   I am grateful that I felt this little man so strongly before he was taken from this earth. You will be missed little one.

Justin told my kids this quote by Joseph Smith.

"The Lord takes many away even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man and the sorrows and evils of this present world, they were too pure, too lovely, to live on this earth; therefore, if rightly considered instead of morning we have reason to rejoice as they are delivered from evil, and we shall have them again… the only difference between the old and the young dying is one lives longer in heaven and eternal light and glory than the other and is freed a little sooner form this miserable wicked world”

I will see you again and hold you someday.
Send love to your siblings and remember to tell Levi happy birthday in February.

January Blues

It's winter, it's cold!
(I must confess it's been nice to have some upper 30 deg days lately)
I keep trying to talk my husband into moving to Sacramento.
I miss the 50 deg winters of Cali.
I have the January blues.
I need me some vitamin D stat.

This pic of Milo made me smile.
It made me happy and feel like summer sunshine is just around the corner.
For now I might go tanning?
I think I'll pick up a good book, maybe take the kids swimming?
Stop to smell some sunscreen. (one of my fav smells)
Get my butt to the gym and eat a yummy salad.
Maybe I'll organize a little bit and or a lot.
I think a project maybe in order.
Anything to help pass the cold away.
Spring and Summer see you soon I hope.

Breakfast Time

One of my New Year resolutions for 2014, go 2014, is to make my kids breakfast before school.
I decided this after watching my teen boys grabbing handfuls of cereal and walking out the door.
They're dedicated to proper nutrition.
So far I am going strong and I am ultra dedicated.
I even made a pinterest board titled Breakfast.
Dedication!

The hard part not having eggs every morning.
Because sometimes you just need a Ryan G. pancake face.

This week we have had.
Eggs
Eggs
Pancakes
(sadly none of mine looked like someone famous)
Cinnamon Sugar Toast and Hot Chocolate
because I'm all about proper nutrition
and tomorrow I plan on Cinnamon Rolls that I found hiding in my fridge and where meant for one of my neighbors as their Christmas gift.
Sorry.

Here's to a new year, and a new us.

12 Days

Happy New Years!!!

I just finished putting up Christmas and wanted to share my favorite find of the season.
I love this book and was over joyed when I found it at the DI for only a dollar!
Its vintage with understated Christmas color.
Simply amazing.
I have a bunch of wedding pics on my camera card until I finish editing.
I'll share later but I love them.
So unfortunately these are off of my phone and really don't do them justice.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas.

Don't you love it. The drawing's, the typeface, Evie's foot?
I sure do.

Now I'm off to finish editing and then Lauren and I will be having some girl time, just the 2 of us.
and Dallin is aching to go to game stop.

Goodbye 2013.
Hello 2014!

Thursday, December 5, 2013

WOW its already December!

Last Monday night for Family Home Evening,
we put up the tree and decorated it.
Lets say it was fun!!!!

My boy's still haven't forgiven me for getting rid of our huge tree and most of our Christmas  ornaments.   Instead we have a tree that lies about its height.  Give it up we all know your not 6 ft.
My friend Megan found this tree the year I went crazy and got rid of everything for $2.50

This year when we went to grab our Christmas box out of the storage room it was crushed.
Most of the ornaments where smashed (lucky not the ornament we got for Levi last year).

Milo and Evie had a major melt down and had to sit in there rooms.
As I walked out of their room Milo in the saddest little voice says "but we're missing Christmas".
Once they were all calmed down we ran to Dollar Tree to replace the smashed ornaments.

So 95% of our tree cost us less then $2.50.
We're super awesome like that.

Our tree is so amazing that Evie said "it's so beautiful, its breaking my heart".

I think she was referencing the row of blobs all clump together.

I love our little tree and my amazing family and the fact that we get to reflect on the birth of our Savior.

Love this time of year.

Strangers

I found this print by Emily McDowell on pinterest.
Don't you love the colors used?

This week I needed this reminder.  With all the amazing things and inspiration out there via the internet, sometimes I forget that we all have slumps and hard days.
I love the saying "don't judge somebody's outward self with your inward self"  or something like that.
